Bear's Head (Hericium americanum)

Bear's Head (Hericium americanum) is a species with long spines and a branched fruiting body. It is apparently found only in North America, fruiting from dead wood or live trees. When young and fresh Bear's Head (Hericium americanum) are generally considered to be choice edibles with a fine flavor and texture similar to fish or Lobster.


Substrate: Hardwood chips and sawdust.
