Blue Oyster (Pleurotus columbinus)

This is a blue tinted oyster mushroom with cultivation requirements similar to the pearl or common oyster mushroom. Blue oysters fruit easily on a wide range of substrates. As with all Oyster mushrooms, blue oysters need plenty of fresh air to develop normally. The blue coloration of this mushroom is much more pronounced in the early stages of growth. When mature only a slight "hint" of blue coloring remains, but the fruits can often turn nearly white with age.

Substrate:Straw, sawdust, wood chips, coffee grounds, newspaper and cardboard.
Colonization/Fruiting Temperatures: 70-75F/65-80F
